Barcelona City Council , through the Cibernàrium - Barcelona Activa project, offers training to delve into the use of Linux, one of the most widely used operating systems in programming and systems administration. Specifically, it is an online self-learning course that seeks to provide a global view of the fundamentals of Linux, develop practical skills in using the command line and the file system, and introduce essential concepts of security, permissions, users and networking, as well as prepare students to pass the official Linux Essentials exam developed by the Linux Professional Institute with guarantees. The aim of the training proposal is for participants to learn how to manage the file system, enter basic commands, manage processes and install software with the most common package managers. Similarly, participants will be able to learn how to configure their work environment with Bash or Zsh and learn about text editors such as Vim and Visual Studio Code.
