This April, a new process of extraordinary regularization of people in the State has begun. In this framework, the 'Primer Paso' tool was born, developed by the Radical Data collective. The initiative seeks to help people who are immersed in this process, as well as the entities and organizations that accompany them. The 'Primer Paso' tool provides support to orient themselves in this process, identify essential documents and relevant information, decide when to opt for the official portal or seek external support.
Therefore, the 'First Step' tool, which does not replace legal advice or constitute an official decision, proposes different paths in accordance with the diversity of realities. Initially, the initiative proposes two options. The first option consists of answering a series of questions to receive more precise guidance on which path may best fit your personal situation. The second option consists of exploring a directory of collaborating organizations classified by name, municipality or contact details in order to request personal in-person support. In this sense, the 2026 extraordinary regularization process is an exceptional process aimed at migrants who are in an irregular situation or applicants for international protection who have arrived in the State before January 1, 2026. Following the publication of the Royal Decree, the deadline for submitting applications will be extended until next Tuesday, June 30.
To resolve doubts and questions, the State has enabled the official helpline number 060.
