A free radio, online and in Catalan. This is how 'Ràdio Mandra' is defined , a self-managed project that plays music from all over the world using free software and from a dining room in the city of Barcelona. Created by Arnau Orriols and Txus Asbert, the initiative, which was born at a time dominated by large corporations, algorithms, immediacy and brevity, promotes doing things yourself with calm, reflection and enjoyment. 'Ràdio Mandra' broadcasts uninterrupted twenty-four hours a day through its official website and international platforms such as Radio Garden. Managed in a community-based manner, the initiative combines live broadcasts with scheduled broadcasts. Currently, 'Ràdio Mandra' has a diverse schedule that includes musical programs, DJ sessions and film and literature spaces. The initiative, which has quickly become a collective voice and remains open to anyone who wants to participate, claims discovery, sharing, human bonds and music as a space for full attention, as well as urging us to question the way we consume culture today and explore other independent alternatives.
