This September, the Generalitat de Catalunya updated the contents of ACTIC , the official accreditation of skills in information and communication technologies. The aim is to adapt to the real use of digital technologies and reinforce a more current, competency-based and accessible model. The main change is that the levels become profiles, which allow us to take into account the degree of participation of the person in the digital society and understand what they know how to do with technology. Thus, there is a basic level that becomes a participant profile , where the person participates in the digital society, uses information and communication technologies regularly and makes efficient and safe use of technology for everyday life: shopping, carrying out procedures, communicating or having fun. Then, there is an intermediate level that becomes an active profile , where the person is active in a digital environment, uses information and communication technologies intensively to work or study and uses technology to be more creative and productive. Then, there is an advanced level that becomes a transformative profile , where the person has the capacity to transform the digital environment, uses information and communication technologies continuously and promotes the use of technology in their environment to improve efficiency and productivity. Along these lines, ACTIC is organized into five areas of digital competence: 1. Information search, management and analysis, 2. Communication and collaboration, 3. Content creation, programming and digital manufacturing, 4. Security, well-being and digital citizenship and 5. Autonomy and problem solving. These are common to the three levels: basic level - participant, intermediate level - active and advanced level - transformative. Likewise, the update of ACTIC contents entails changes in the accreditation process and in the assessment test. For example, the test reservation can be modified up to the seventh day before the exam date, all levels will evaluate the five competency areas, the advanced level will no longer be modular and will be evaluated with a single test, and the test will have 60 questions and last 100 minutes.
