ACCIÓ , the Agency for Business Competitiveness, promoted a new edition of Exponential Day last Wednesday, July 8, at the World Trade Center Barcelona. The event, which brought together the technological and business fabric of the territory, explored the new frontier of artificial intelligence: agentic artificial intelligence. Specifically, it is a new generation of artificial intelligence that can analyze, make decisions and act autonomously, that is, a new technology that not only automates repetitive tasks, but also participates in processes that require coordination capabilities. In this sense, Exponential Day 2026 featured presentations, round tables, presentation of real cases, practical sessions and networking spaces. The keynote speech was given by Daniel Susskind, an expert in the impact of artificial intelligence on work and the economy. Susskind stated that artificial intelligence will transform the future of the labor market, focusing on tasks and processes. Susskind added that this transformation will be an opportunity to enhance people's capabilities through artificial intelligence and rethink how to provide value. Along these lines, Albert Esplugas, head of Futuria, pointed out how agent-based artificial intelligence can transform the way companies work through concrete examples and inspiring reflections. Esplugas shared recommendations and advice to prepare for change within organizations. Also, representatives of CELSA, Damm, Grupo Planeta and Hinojosa Packaging Group presented real cases of adoption of artificial intelligence, the challenges and opportunities and detailed how companies are incorporating artificial intelligence into their processes, improving their productivity and paving the way towards a new generation of intelligent systems.
